TranslationDistant worship of the kami of Mount Inari
From afar, I bow with reverence before Inari Ōkami, enshrined upon deep rock with mighty palace pillars on Mount Inari in Yamashiro Province.
Editorial note
This historical prayer is specifically directed to Inari Ōkami; it is not treated as a universal prayer for distant shrine worship or as the current official text of Fushimi Inari Taisha.
Let no crooked or wrongful event arise in home or body, and protect us through night and day.
Includes interpretation
May descendants far into the future flourish like the many spreading branches of a mulberry tree; protect us and grant us well-being, I humbly declare with reverence.
