Before Amaterasu Ōmikami and the Ubusuna Ōkami enshrined and revered at this kamidana—whose names are spoken with reverence—I bow and humbly declare these words.
This page presents the example published by the Hokkaidō Jinja-chō; another published form begins with “the kami who dwell upon this sacred shelf.”
Receiving with gratitude the broad and abundant blessings of the kami, and following their lofty and precious teaching,
please guide me to keep a sincere and upright heart, remain on the true path, and devote myself to the work entrusted to me.
May my household prosper, may I remain in good health, and may I serve the world and its people; I humbly declare with reverence.
