The site aims not to collect more information than is needed to improve the act of reading.
Analytics and cookies
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand usage and improve the reading experience. Measurements include viewed pages, sessions, approximate country or region, device and browser information, and interactions such as selecting and filtering norito, changing display settings, auto-scrolling, and choosing whether to resume reading.
Google Analytics 4 uses first-party cookies such as _ga to distinguish users and sessions. Google states that IP addresses are used to derive approximate location and discarded before the data is logged on Analytics servers.
The correction text and supporting reference entered in a form are not sent to Google Analytics. Submission success or failure, the relevant norito and section number, and whether a reference was included are measured without directly identifying the person making the suggestion. Cookies can be disabled or deleted in the browser, and Google provides an Analytics opt-out add-on.
Information stored in your browser
Theme, writing direction, reading-aid visibility, text size, reading speed, the last section read, recent reading state, and the selection history used for the daily recommendation are stored in localStorage so that the site can reopen in a familiar state.
This information is used on the device to restore the display. The site does not include a process that sends the stored values themselves to its server. Clearing the browser’s site data also removes these settings and reading positions.
Correction suggestions
The selected norito and section, correction details, supporting reference, and page URL entered in the correction form are emailed to the operator for review. The form does not ask for a name or reply address. Do not enter a name, contact details, or other personal information that is unnecessary for the correction.
Submissions are not published automatically. They are kept only as needed to compare sources and maintain a record of changes, and are not used for another purpose.
Access logs
Access logs containing details such as the date, time, and page URL may be retained temporarily to protect the site and investigate failures. The site does not include a process that records correction text or supporting references in access logs.
External sites and policy changes
Reference links lead to external websites governed by their own privacy policies. This policy may be revised when measurement, service providers, or site functionality changes. Material revisions will be reflected in this page and its last-updated date.
