This place is swept and purified as a sacred iwasaka. A himorogi is raised, and Taokihooi no Mikoto and Hikosashiri no Mikoto are invited and enshrined. Before them, these words are humbly declared.
Iwasaka is rendered as a sacred ritual boundary. This does not prescribe one physical arrangement for every contemporary construction rite.

On this occasion, a carpenter whose name is supplied here will build and serve in the construction of the sanctuary of the Ubusuna Kami of this village. Because this is no easy work, the blessings of the kami are received and their protection is sought.
Nanigashi marks a variable place for the carpenter’s name. The displayed formula concerns shrine construction and is not presented as a universal prayer for private building work.
Ritual offerings, sacred sake, food, and many products of sea, river, field, and mountain are presented. May they be received in peace.

Guard the work served morning and evening. Let the axe in hand make no error and the struck ink line never deviate; in accordance with the proper method, bring the work swiftly to completion. These words are humbly declared.
