Kakemaku mo kashikoki a ga ōkami no ōmae ni kashikomi kashikomi mo mōsaku掛巻も畏き吾が大神の大前に、恐み恐みも白さく

Before the great kami revered as the ujigami, these words are humbly declared. The child named here, born to the ujiko named here, has received the blessing of the great kami.
The two occurrences of nanigashi are variable places for the parent’s and child’s names. Mitama no fuyu is rendered broadly as the blessing or gracious working of the kami.
Includes interpretation
Because the child was born in peace and has now reached more than one hundred days of age, this auspicious day is chosen and celebrated. The child is brought before the great kami, offerings of gratitude are presented, and this act of reverent service is asked to be received in full.
The reference to more than one hundred days belongs to this historical example and does not establish one date for every contemporary first shrine visit. Practice differs by family, shrine, and region.
From this day forward, may there be no calamity, illness, or distress, and may the child grow ever healthier and flourish. These words are humbly declared with reverence.
