By the authority of the ancestral kami dwelling in Takamanohara, Toyoashihara no Mizuho no Kuni is established as a peaceful realm. The palace, with pillars set deep and chigi raised high, is praised as the shelter of heaven and sun, and upper and lower garments are prepared as offerings.

Many kinds of cloth and objects of five colors, jars filled with sacred sake, greens of mountain and field, fish, seaweed, and other offerings are arrayed in abundance like a long mountain.

From this twelfth month until the next, may the august presence remain peacefully at its resting place; on the appointed day of this twelfth month, the rite is performed to enshrine and settle it.
Editorial note
Kokugakuin University explains that garments and a soul-cord used in the Chinkon rite could stand in for the august spirit at the Iwahido resting place. Because the norito itself does not name the cord, it is not inserted into the translation.
