TranslationThe two kami guarding the gates

Includes interpretation

Kushiiwamado no Mikoto and Toyoiwamado no Mikoto are the gate kami who dwell firmly at the inner and outer gates in every direction, like a mass of sacred rock.

Editorial note

Other sources write the two names with the characters for “space between doors.” This page preserves the written form of its Japanese display edition.
