Before the awe-inspiring great kami, the person named here humbly declares: the wife of the person named here is with child and has reached the month of birth, so this day has been chosen and consecrated as an auspicious and sufficient day.
Nanigashi marks variable places for the names used in the prayer. Taigetsu is understood narrowly here as the stage at which the birth is expected.

Offerings of gratitude have been fully arranged as peaceful and sufficient gifts. May they be received.
Yasu mitegura and taru mitegura are formulaic descriptions of the offerings and are rendered according to their role in this passage.

Through the lofty and precious blessing of the kami, may the birth be brought peacefully to completion with as little suffering as possible. May mother and child be free from grave harm and obstruction, be protected, and grow ever healthier and more flourishing. These words are humbly declared with reverence.
